In the 1990s alone, more than 400 works on angels were published, adding to an already burgeoning genre. Throughout the centuries angels have been featured in, among others, theological works on scripture; studies in comparative religions; works on art, architecture and music; philological studies; philosophical, sociological, anthropological, archeological and psychological works; and even a psychoanalytical study of the implications that our understanding of angels has for our understanding of sexual differences.
This bibliography lists 4,355 works alphabetically by author. Each entry contains a source for the reference, often a Library of Congress call number followed by the name of a university that holds the work. More than 750 of the entries are annotated. Extensive indexes to names, subjects and centuries provide further utility.

Dark World

It’s easy to say ghosts exist or don’t exist. Anyone can do that. Trying to figure out the why or what is a different story. Paranormal investigator Zak Bagans, host of the popular Travel Channel series Ghost Adventures, pulls from his years of experience with paranormal activities and unexplained phenomena to provide an evenhanded look at a divisive subject. In Dark World, regardless of whether you believe in the afterlife or not, Zak does his best to find and share answers to the phenomena that people encounter. He wants you to experience a haunting through his eyes: to feel what it’s like to be scared, freaked out, pushed, cold, sluggish, whispered-at and touched by an ethereal being or attacked by a demonic spirit. But beyond simply experiencing these events, Zak is looking for the reasons behind them, searching for answers to the unanswered questions. Addressing all the major issues and theories of the field in an impartial way, Dark World is a must read for paranormal enthusiasts, those who don’t believe and anyone who’s ever wondered about things that go bump in the night.

The Awakening of Global Consciousness

One of the world’s leading spiritual teachers returns with an inspiring and provocative message with solutions to our planetary crises, offering effective steps to change the world and integrate all levels of our Being.  Religion is psychological entrapment promoting the controlled behavior of the herd civilization.  Institutionalized organized religion is the cause of enslavement, violence, prejudice, hatred, classism, and war.  False religious institutions created god in their own personal image and after the likeness of their own mind for control and money.

Every religious holy book has been altered, dissected, rewritten, and censored to appear as the word of God, and all the gods of religious holy books are controlled by fundamentalists.  Organized religion is a serious threat to the human race and a mental illness that afflicts over 80% of the world’s population.  It has nothing to do with spirituality and is no more than a collection of unholy lies.  The spiritual terrorism of religion frowns upon free will, dispises questions, prohibits doubt, and survives on blind faith.  Eternal life with God is only promised to the obedient religious-slaves who unconditionally follow rigid religious belief structures.  This mythology was created based on division, not unity.  Control is the essence of evil.  The easiest way to control humanity is through fear, which is why the religious Elite created gods of intimidation and fear; to control others and solicit money.

“The Awakening of Global Consciousness is a must read for the millions who’ve read Jawara’s earlier classic books and a great beginning for those unfamiliar with his great works questioning the validity of the world’s three major religions.”

From Angels to Aliens: Teenagers, the Media, and the Supernatural

Harry Potter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and the Left Behind series are but the latest manifestations of American teenagers longstanding fascination with the supernatural and the paranormal. In this groundbreaking book, Lynn Schofield Clark explores the implications of this fascination for contemporary religious and spiritual practices. Relying on stories gleaned from more than 250 in-depth interviews with teens and their families, Clark seeks to discover what todays teens really believe and why. She finds that as adherence to formal religious bodies declines, interest in alternative spiritualities as well as belief in superstition grow accordingly. Ironically, she argues, fundamentalist Christian alarmism about the forces of evil has also fed belief in a wider array of supernatural entities. Resisting the claim that the media brainwash teens, Clark argues that todays popular stories of demons, hell, and the afterlife actually have their roots in the U.S.s religious heritage. She considers why some young people are nervous about supernatural stories in the media, while others comfortably and often unselfconsciously blur the boundaries between those stories of the realm beyond that belong to traditional religion and those offered by the entertainment media. At a time of increased religious pluralism and declining participation in formal religious institutions, Clark says, we must completely reexamine what young people mean–and what they may believe–when they identify themselves as spiritual or religious. Offering provocative insights into how the entertainment media shape contemporary religious ideas and practices, From Angels to Aliens paints a surprising–and perhaps alarming–portrait of the spiritual state of Americas youth.
